Naomi Alfini
Morning and Afternoon Teacher
Naomi has a teacher’s license in Early Education, a BA in psychology (child development) from The Colorado College (1999), and a masters in development studies (children’s rights) from the Institute of Development Studies (2002,UK). Before moving to Vermont in 2015, she lived in Washington DC, taught preschool and Kindergarten and happily discovered the Reggio philosophy. She particularly appreciates the Reggio emphasis on family participation in “the life” of the classroom, and enjoys building community and collaboration between children, teachers and parents. She lives in Duxbury with her husband, son (SHS alum ’20), and their assortment of animal and plant companions. Before having a young child, herself, Naomi was an avid traveler and visited/lived in at least 40 states in the US and 16 countries. She loves spending time in nature, in different cultures, and most especially – with young children.
